1.  What is the difference between buying and renting?
Buying clothes from our boutique is no different from purchasing something from any other store. However, if you choose to rent, you get to pay a lower rental price for an item and return it after 2 weeks.

2.  Can I buy brand new pieces at your store?
Definitely. Our buying team is constantly sourcing for new styles from designers and suppliers from all around the world, with fresh designs and brand new stock coming in every month. Just ask our friendly sales staff to direct you to brand new pieces!

You may also rent or purchase pieces that have been rented out before. Our dynamic pricing system will automatically mark down the sale and rental prices for these pieces so you get a great deal for an excellent piece!

3.  What are the advantages of renting?
There are so many advantages. Where do we even begin? Well, you never have to spend a bomb to wear that drop-dead gorgeous outfit just once for that special night. You don’t have to be stuck buying the same old little black dress and wearing it to death as it’s the most practical option. You never have to make-do with what you have. Instead, you can put together a complete look with jewellery and evening bags to complement that gown to a fault, again without busting the bank. We’ve made shopping fun, dressing up effortless, and looking your best at glam events something every smart woman can achieve.

4.  How does the buy/rent system work?
Once you’ve found your perfect dress, jewellery or evening bag, you can choose to buy it at the purchase price or rent it for 2 weeks at a much lower rental price. Buy it if you can't sleep without knowing that it's yours;  Rent it if you’re sure it's a once-in-a-lifetime dress that you'll never get to wear again. There you have it, guilt-free shopping in its simplest form.

5.  What items are available for rental?
Most of the items in the store are available for rental like evening occasion wear, jewellery and evening  bags. Certain items that are only for sale will be clearly identified through the attached price tags.

6.  Do I need to put down a deposit for rental?
At the point of rental, the full purchase price will be charged to serve as rental deposit. The balance amount (i.e. the difference between the purchase and the rental price) will be refunded back to you when you return the item. If payment is made by credit card, the refund will be made via the same credit card and the customer can expect a credit on their cards within seven days from the date of return. If payment is made by cash or NETS, the refund will be made either via cash (for refund amounts below $500) or cheque (for refund amounts $500 and above).

7.  How long can I rent an item for?
All items can be rented out for a maximum of 2 weeks. Overdue charges will be deducted from your rental deposit on a per-day basis if the item is returned later than 2 weeks.

8.  Can I extend the rental period?
If you wish to keep your rental items longer, you may extend your rental period on a daily basis at the pro-rated fees equivalent to the prevailing rental prices of the items. All items can only be rented for a maximum of four weeks, including extensions, after which they MUST either be returned or purchased.

Simply drop us an email at info@dress-sense.sg or give us a call at 65 6333 0329 to request for the extension. The extension fee will be deducted from your rental deposit.

9.  Can I purchase the item which I have rented?

If you would like to keep the item which you have rented, simply drop us an email at info@dress-sense.sg or give us a call at (65) 6333 0329 to request for purchase. We will retain the full purchase prices you paid initially and no additional payment will be required. Additional top-ups may be required for certain high value items. If you chose to purchase the items at the very start, these items may not be converted into rentals.

10.  How many items can I rent at a time?
It's entirely up to you and your budget. There is no limit on the number of items you can rent at a time!

11.  Can I reserve an item which I will need only some time later?
Yes you may, though only for a maximum of 2 days as many of our styles are meant to be exclusive and come in limited numbers. So, if you see something you like, do give us call at (65) 6333 0329 and we will put it aside for you. If there happens to be another customer who needs your dress before the date you reserved it for, we will give you a call to check if we can release it.

12.  Can I alter a rented item?
We understand that alterations may need to be done to make that outfit perfect for you, so we do provide minor alterations (e.g adjustment of strap and dress lengths) for rented items. These have to be done by Dress Sense's experienced seamstresses so as to ensure the item is maintained in good condition. If you purchase the outfit as your own, more extensive alterations can also be done by our seamstresses.

13.  Do I need to clean the item before returning it?
To uphold the quality of the clothes we display and make available for rent, all clothes should be returned  clean and in excellent condition. Dress Sense will also send the returned pieces for professional cleaning with our certified and experienced drycleaners before displaying the items again.

14.  What happens if the item I rented becomes damaged or permanently stained?
Don't worry if they are stained or damaged; there are no additional costs you need to pay. If the damage is irreparable, we will simply treat them as purchased items. If it can be repaired, there may be a nominal fee for the treatment of the damage in question.

15.  How do you ensure that your products remain in tip top condition even after they've been rented out?
Dress Sense has tied up with an excellent network of reliable and experienced drycleaners, bag and jewellery specialists to ensure that our items remain in tip top condition. On top of that, our team conducts stringent checks to ensure that products are in excellent condition. Those that are not are removed from the sale floor.

16.  What is your exchange policy?
To exchange a rented or purchased item, you will need to bring it no later than the next day. Items can only be exchanged if they are unworn, unwashed, undamaged as well as unsoiled, with their price tags intact. Please also bring along your sales invoice and credit-card receipt (if applicable). Exchanges will be valid for items of equal value or higher. Unfortunately, refunds will not be entertained.
